Current Job PostingAccountant is needed in Houston, TX to prepare quarterly estimated tax; prepare income tax return for business and individuals; research income tax and state sales/use tax guidelines in response to questions from clients; communicate with federal and various state tax officials for tax notices; calculate book and tax depreciation and book tax difference; prepare financial statements (BS, IS, CF, etc.); generate customer invoices from the clients’ accounting system as instructed; record vendor invoices in the clients’ accounting system; prepare fixed asset roll-forward schedule for asset acquisitions and disposals; assist in tax provision calculation; perform financial statement audits under GAAS, GAAP, AICPA auditing standards and IFRS; generate trial balance, general ledger, and sub-ledger detail from various accounting systems; reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts to ensure the accuracy of the balance; prepare bank reconciliation on various accounting systems; perform tick and tie each item in the financial statement presentation including footnotes; review clients’ financial statements for material errors and inconsistencies; prepare confirmation letters for account receivables, bank balance, lawyers, consigned inventory, etc.; receive and examine the response to the confirmation, and compile question list when discrepancy is noted; interact directly with the audit team and clients to discuss findings, issues, and resolution; research in accounting/audit guideline for attestation service. Require bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, and 5 months of accounting, finance or auditing experience. Require CPA license or passage of all four parts of CPA examination.
